1.1 What is Cyber Law



Cyber law in Malaysia still news and on the process of developing in Malaysia. There are several statute related to the cyber law which are :
  • Computer Crimes Act 1997
  • Digital Signature Act 1997
  • Digital Signature Act 1997
  • Evidence Act 1950
  • Evidence Act (amendment) Act 1993
  • Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission Act 1998
  • Telemedicine Act 1997
So, before we proceed on the focus of this blog which on telemedicine, it is neccesity for us to know the definition of cyber law from various sources.

  • Bussiness Dictionary. com - Rapidly evolving area of civil and criminal law as applicable to the use of computers and activities performed and transactions conducted over internet and others networks.
  • Legal Definition - The area of law dealing with the use of computers and internet and the exchange of communication and information thereon, including related issues concerning such communications and information as the protection of intelectual property right , freedom of speech, and public access to information.
  • State Lawyers .Com - It contains conduct involving the use of internet and encompasses cyber crime, electronic commerce, freedom of expression, intellectual property rights , jurisdiction , and choice of law and privacy of rights.
From all the definition above, it can be concluded that, the cyber law is law relating to the cyber crimes such as hacker, crackers and etc and it involves protection to the intelectual property ,communication and etc.
